3 Tips For Getting Back On The Fitness Wagon
As summer draws to a close and you feel like getting back into your old routine, here are 3 of my tips on how you can get back to business and start moving towards your goal!
1. Make A Plan
We've all heard the saying 'fail to prepare, prepare to fail'. But we can sometimes forget how true it really is. Going into something with great intentions is all well a good but when that first week of motivation slowly disappears, having a plan or guidance to stick to can help keep you accountable and keep you heading in the right direction.
2. Take It Steady
The problem with our society at the moment is that we want things and we want them now. Fitness and body transforming is a low process. The 2 weeks results you're after are probably temporary and in honesty would no doubt take you over 2 months at least. If your goal is weight loss, just remember that it didn't get put on over night and therefore isn't going to come off over night! Have a little patience, trust the process and the results will come!
3. Find Your Balance
Similarly to the point above, finding something that you can stick Ann maintain should be your long term focus. If you go from doing nothing to trying to workout 6 days a week, you won't be able to sustain this and rate in work load to recovery. This then leads to you feeling disheartened when you miss a day and 'mess up' your routine. Training is a balance of work and rest. Training 6 hours a day every day will no doubt get you into great shape, but realistically, is that something that you can commit to over a period of 3-6 months. Doubt it. You are best off picking 2-3 days of the week and starting off with a 30-60 minute session until you feel you can build up to a higher work rate or intensity.
